Dr. Lawrence (Larry) Wilson has been part of our Treatment Team since our inception and currently serves as our Medical Director and CEO.  He is Board Certified in Addiction Medicine and a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. In addition, he is a Certified MRO and is considered a national expert in the field of toxicology testing.

Dr. Wilson holds faculty appointments in Addiction Medicine at both the University of Florida and the University of South Florida and currently serves the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association (FADAA) as a Peer Mentor due to his expertise in all forms of Medicated Assisted Treatments for drug and alcohol dependency. He is also a Physician Consultant to the Florida Department of Health and all it’s Professional Monitoring Programs (PRN, IPN), performing evaluations on over 1,000 physicians, dentists, and nurses.

Dr. Wilson completed his Fellowship in Addiction Medicine at the University of Florida and has been active in the field of Addiction for over 20 years. His main expertise includes Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol dependency and he has been instrumental in developing a number of unique detoxification protocols that safely prevent withdrawal symptoms and minimize the potential for relapse. He also has a vast experience in Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders, overseeing all aspects of the Treatment process including Behavioral Health.

In addition to his medical skills, Dr. Wilson brings his own long standing Recovery to the Treatment process and due to his own passion for Recovery, is intimately involved in all aspects of treatment for every 7 Summit Pathways patient, regardless of their level of care. Dr. Wilson interacts with all patients on almost a daily basis and supervises all aspects of Treatment at 7 Summit Pathways, typically visiting with each patient weekly, or as necessary, addressing all medical needs.
